Maclaren is recalling more than 1 million umbrella strollers because they may cause harm to children’s fingers. A mechanism on the side hinge has the potential of cutting or amputating a child’s fingers when the stroller is being opened or closed, the British company have claimed.

The recall applies to all strollers that have been sold in the U.S. since they were released in 1999.
The affected models include Volo, Triumph, Quest Sport, Quest Mod, Techno XT, Techno XLR, Twin Triumph, Twin Techno and Easy Traveller.
In the past ten years there have been 15 incidents of children being hurt according to the company and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
Maclaren, in cooperation with the CPSC, is providing free repair kits which will cover a faulty joint or hinge to both consumers and retailers.
Those who have purchased the stroller should stop using it immediately and call Maclaren toll-free at (877) 688-2326.
The product, which is manufactured in China, is sold nationwide.
